The Christian Renewal Center is owned by the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston and managed by the laity. Following the lead of our Shepherd, Cardinal DiNardo, and in consultation with the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston Risk Management, the new policies are in place starting May 25, 2021, for the CRC. Our goal is to keep ministering as we have done for the past 14-months and to keep you safe. We are proud to say we have never stopped ministering during this pandemic, and we have not had a single COVID outbreak during our retreats.
Thank you to everyone that donated a prize, help promote, and bid on our virtual online auction. The online auction cost us $100 for the website to run the online auction and our funds raised was $3,208 making a $3,108 profit. Thank you for your support. The funds raised will go towards our general operations to make up for the shortfall of funds due to not running as many retreats during COVID.
As of Pentecost Sunday, we have had donated or pledge to donate $45,684 to go towards purchasing the land own by the Scanlan Foundation. We are grateful to the 62 people/families to date that has pledged or donated. Your support is absolutely critical to us securing the continued use of this land. Check out the 3.5-minute video by Kim Brown to understand how this impacts the current and future operations of the CRC.
The CRC is raising funds through an online auction. Pre-bidding has begun and the auction kicks off Ascension Thursday and runs through Pentecost. Get caught up in the Holy Spirit bidding on one-of-a-kind religious items, quilts, afghans, home decor, golf, and so much more. Your money will support the CRC.
The Scanlan Foundation owns 21 of the 52 acres of the Christian Renewal Center. They plan to sell their land. This will negatively impact the current operations and future growth. The CRC wants to keep the entire 21 acres of land but will work to secure the property most critical to our current operations. Please go online to learn more and make a pledge to help us purchase the land.
