WAIVER AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY FOR VOLUNTEERS

This Waiver and Release of Liability ("Waiver") is made and entered into by and between the undersigned volunteer ("Volunteer") and CRC Retreat Partners, Inc., a Texas nonprofit corporation doing business as Christian Renewal Center ("CRC").
In consideration for being allowed to participate as a volunteer at the Christian Renewal Center, located in Texas, and for being permitted to assist in various volunteer activities ("Activities"), Volunteer agrees to the following terms and conditions:

1. Assumption of Risk

Volunteer acknowledges and understands that participation in the Activities involves inherent risks, including but not limited to injury, property damage, and other risks, some of which may be unknown or unforeseeable. Volunteer voluntarily assumes all such risks associated with participation in the Activities and agrees to accept personal responsibility for any and all injuries or damages that may result from their involvement, regardless of whether such injuries or damages occur as a result of Volunteer’s own actions, omissions, or negligence.

2. Release and Waiver of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Volunteer hereby waives, releases, and discharges CRC Retreat Partners, Inc., its officers, directors, employees, agents, volunteers, affiliates, and representatives (collectively, "CRC Releasees") from any and all claims, demands, causes of action, damages, liabilities, and expenses, including attorneys’ fees, arising out of or in any way related to Volunteer’s participation in the Activities, whether caused by the negligence or otherwise of CRC Releasees or any other person or entity.

3. Volunteer Responsibilities

Volunteer agrees to follow all instructions, safety protocols, and guidelines provided by CRC and its staff, and to use only the equipment and tools for which they have been properly trained. Volunteer understands that failure to follow proper safety procedures or to use equipment without proper training may result in injury or harm to themselves or others. Volunteer agrees not to operate any equipment, machinery, or tools without the prior approval of CRC staff and only if they have received the necessary training or certification to do so.

4. Safety and Training

Volunteer acknowledges that it is their responsibility to ask for training or clarification regarding any activity or equipment they are uncertain about. CRC will provide appropriate training for the volunteer role, and Volunteer agrees to only engage in tasks for which they have received adequate training from CRC staff. Volunteer understands that CRC may require them to cease participation in any activity if it is deemed unsafe or if the Volunteer is not adequately trained or equipped.

5. Indemnification

Volunteer agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless CRC and releasees from any and all claims, demands, actions, or causes of action, including legal fees, arising out of or in any way related to Volunteer’s actions, omissions, or negligence during the course of their volunteer service.

6. Health and Medical Conditions

Volunteer certifies that they are physically and mentally fit to participate in the Activities and that they are not under the influence of any substance that would impair their ability to safely engage in volunteer activities. Volunteer agrees to immediately notify CRC staff of any medical condition that could affect their participation in the Activities. In the event of an emergency, Volunteer grants permission for CRC staff to seek medical treatment if necessary. Volunteers are responsible for any ​medical cost associated with injury from volunteering. 

7. Governing Law

This Waiver and Release of Liability shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas. Any disputes arising under this Waiver shall be resolved in the courts located in the County of [Insert County], Texas.

8. Entire Agreement

This Waiver constitutes the entire agreement between the Volunteer and CRC regarding the subject matter hereof. No oral statements or prior written material not specifically incorporated herein shall be of any force and effect. If any provision of this Waiver is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remainder of the Waiver shall remain in full force and effect.
By signing below, Volunteer acknowledges that they have read, understood, and voluntarily agreed to the terms and conditions of this Waiver and Release of Liability.
